In August 2000, Hitachi Company introduced the first DVD camera DZ-MV100. At that time, this camera just can record through DVD-RAM, while the Hitachi Company first introduced the DVD into the Digital Video Camera as the storage medium. They adopted 8cm DVE-RAM DVD-R as the storage medium and got red of the inconvenience caused by DV tape. It is an important renovation from the introduction of DCR-VX1000.
